Can Arsenal remain on course to end their league trophy drought?
Ahead of the
current 2022/23 season, many would have scoffed at Arsenal’s ability to not
only ascend to the apex of the English Premier League table but remain in that
top spot for a long time.
In spite of
that, though, the Gunners have admirably been the pace-setters in the English
Premier League this season right from the early days of the league campaign.
Indeed, it
is undeniably true that the Gunners have been sitting prettily at the summit of
the table for the largest chunk of the season thus far.
One key
hallmark of Arsenal’s league campaign this season has been their tough mental
strength.
This never
say die attitude was fully on display in their recent highly dramatic 3-2
victory against the lowly Bournemouth in which they secured the winner at the
death.
Significantly,
what was so splendid about the Gunners’ victory against minnows Bournemouth was
the fact that the latter had initially seized a 2-0 lead during the memorable
league clash.
Indeed,
faced with such a herculean challenge, Arsenal teams of yesteryear might have
thrown in the towel.
However,
rather than raise the white flag, this season’s Arsenal side just toughened up
and tried to force their way back into the game.
Ultimately,
the Gunners’ display of mental toughness did the trick against Bournemouth.
Thus, as the
English Premier League season continues to gather pace, it seems distinctly
clear that Arsenal will have to remain hugely determined, that is, if they are
serious about ending their lengthy league title drought.
